The Meadows School (Sandwell) (SIPS) is seeking a cleaner to undertake, as part of a team and under supervision, the cleaning of designated areas to ensure they are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.
Responsibilities include:
1. Routine cleaning of premises and furnishings during term time, including vacuuming, damp dusting, mopping, machine cleaning floors, polishing, and emptying litter bins.
2. Periodic cleaning during school closure, such as scrubbing/stripping floors, wall washing, carpet shampooing, and cleaning internal glass.
3. Use of electrical cleaning equipment, e.g., scrubbers and carpet extraction machines, with appropriate training.
4. Cleaning of toilets and sanitary areas, maintaining hygiene standards.
5. Working under the direction of the Cleaner in Charge / Site Manager.
6. Inspecting and reporting defects to the Head Teacher or Site Manager.
7. Replenishing consumables like soap and toilet paper as needed.
8. Using access equipment for areas not accessible from floor level, following safety procedures.
9. Participating in the Council’s personal performance development scheme.
The post holder must adhere to the Council’s policies on equality, act sensitively, and promote a positive, harmonious working environment. They should also monitor their own training needs and those of any employees they supervise.
Responsibilities include complying with health and safety policies and procedures.

Details:
* Hours: 15-30 hours/week, shift pattern to be confirmed, term time plus 3 weeks.
* Grade: Grade A, SCP 2, £23,656 annual (pro-rata salary £8,926 - £18,073 depending on hours).
* Location: The Meadows School, Dudley Road East, Oldbury, and Connor Road, West Bromwich.
