Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, materials co-ordinator with a high attention to detail to join our growing team at the Lazenby Group head offices in Hull. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing our ordering and stock management operations and ensuring excellent communication between our internal multi-discipline production teams, ensuring components and materials are available as needed. The role will involve coordination between various internal teams and suppliers to efficiently co-ordinate materials in line with our production requirements.
Responsibilities
* Inventory Management: Complete ownership of the stock system including overseeing stock levels, conducting cycle counts, and planning full stock takes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Logistics and Procurement: Scheduling the timely delivery of materials and components to the factory and coordinating the handling of inbound and outbound goods. Receipting and issuing of received goods against production orders. Liaising with other departments to ensure goods and materials are scheduled to arrive in a timely manner not to delay production.
* Supplier Coordination: Liaising with suppliers, logging and providing feedback on their performance, and ensuring that materials meet quality standards. Entering and maintaining item records detailing preferred and alternative suppliers.
* Project Support: Supporting projects by ensuring departments have the necessary materials for daily operations.
* Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of all materials, including their movement and status.
Essential Skills
* Organisation and Planning: The ability to coordinate complex tasks, manage schedules, and ensure timely execution.
* Attention to Detail: Crucial for accurately tracking materials, verifying products, and maintaining inventory records.
* Interpersonal Skills: The ability to communicate effectively across all levels including management, engineers, suppliers, and other departments.
* Technical Proficiency: Proficient with IT equipment, including Microsoft Office as well as company MRP (materials resource planning) software – training would be provided however previous experience with similar systems would be advantageous. Working with Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Production Orders to effectively manage component shortages, ordering the required components.
* Logistical Knowledge: Understanding the flow of materials from procurement to production and distribution
