The role supports healthcare in a secure environment with a 7 day week model to maintain high standards of care.

Main duties and responsibilities
Healthcare Support Workers work closely with people who use our services and contribute to how people experience our services. Core duties include:
 * Keep patients safe by recognising the limits of the HSW role and working closely with Registered Professionals.
 * Contribute to positive clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence-based policies and procedures when implementing care plans.
 * Ensure patients have a good experience by respecting, empowering and partnering with them when contributing to care plans and their evaluation.
 * Assist under supervision in direct and indirect patient care, and support the growth and maintenance of key clinical functions.
We believe in multidisciplinary teamwork and partnership with other services to provide seamless care. HSWs contribute by working closely with Registered Professionals.

Typical role specifics
Location: HMP/YOI Bronzefield, Woodthorpe Road, Ashford, Middlesex TW15 3JZ. Band 3, Permanent, Full-time. Salary: £26,240 to £27,928 per annum incl. Fringe HCAS (pro rata if part-time).
Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Full-time. Reference: 333-D-HJ-1895-A.
Responsibilities and expectations
 * Assist team to ensure high standards of nursing care and provide direct physical care under supervision of trained staff.
 * Support and supervise junior staff in the provision of care.
 * Maintain patient safety and dignity; observe and document patient care as required.
 * Participate in patient assessments and contribute to care plans; assist with group activities and clinics as appropriate.
 * Maintain accurate records and comply with mandatory training requirements.
 * Escort patients safely when required and participate in supervision and appraisal processes.
Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
 * Numeracy and literacy to keep accurate records; ability to understand and implement Equal Opportunities policy and anti-discriminatory practices.
 * Ability to promote 7-day service model and work well within a multidisciplinary team.
 * Good communication, reliable, and proactive in delivering safe, effective care.
 * Experience working with a multidisciplinary team and in fast-paced or customer-focused environments; healthcare/NHS or similar experience in community or hospital settings.
 * Education: Literacy and numeracy; English language proficiency at an appropriate standard.
Desirable:
 * Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983; Care Certificate; venepuncture; smoking cessation and health promotion.
 * Level 3 qualification (eg. apprenticeship, A-levels, NVQ) and related certifications.
