About The Role
Title: Gatehouse Corporate Security Officer
Location: Rugby
Pay: £12.73
Hours: Average 50+ hours a week (flexibility to cover when needed)
Shift: 12 hour shifts
0600 to 1800 and 1800 to 0600
2 days, 4 nights, 4 off
Duties as a Gatehouse Security Officer
* The on-coming officer will arrive in time for a handover from the off-going officer, after first reporting to the Security Control room to log-on for duty and collect a radio,
* The controlled movement of all vehicles are to be monitored and permission to enter the site
* Regular external and internal patrols of the whole site
* Vehicle searches to carried out daily
* Speed detection of on site vehicle monitored
* Greet all guests in a welcoming manner, regardless of their attitude towards the security officer. If needed, escalate matters to the Security Manager.
* Ensure that only trained Traffic Marshall Officers to direct traffic through the gates.
* Manage the vehicle entry process for vehicles entering through the Gatehouse
* Participate in fire evacuation procedures.
* Keep visual on the Pedestrian Entry point, ensuring there is no tailgating through the bicycle access gate.
* Manage traffic entering onto site, ensuring queues do not build up.
* Communicate with the client, ensuring they are aware of incoming deliveries and couriers.
* Escalate all issues to either the Security Manager or on site client
Requirements as a Gatehouse Security Officer
* Deliver excellent customer service
* IT Skills
* Be well organised and have methodical approach
* Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
* Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary
* Maintain a high standard of personal presentation
* Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance in order to ensure team effectiveness and availability
* Able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team
* Able to deal calmly and confidently with all demands from the staff and stakeholders
* An understanding of the principles of equality and diversity in relation to staff and visitors' needs
