If you answered yes to these questions, then we invite you to join our team as an SEN Teaching Assistant at our specialist schools in the HD8 area catering to children aged 9-19 with SEMH needs. This long-term position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with a diverse group of students in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage with learning activities and develop essential academic and social skills.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons and interventions that cater to the individual needs and abilities of each student.
- Support students in managing their emotions and behaviors effectively, promoting positive relationships and a calm learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement personalized support plans that address the specific needs and goals of each student.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents, actively participating in the assessment and review process to ensure continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- A genuine passion for working with children with SEMH needs, along with the patience, empathy, and resilience to support them effectively.
- Previous experience working in a similar role or setting, preferably within a specialist SEN environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills to meet the changing needs of the students and the school.
- An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one) is essential for this role.
