We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our friendly and inclusive team. You will be joining an established team responsible for supporting a large Windows Server infrastructure and mission critical applications across traditional datacentre and cloud platforms.
You will assist in maintaining our systems to the highest standards of security and efficiency and help develop the infrastructure of tomorrow.
About you
In the role of a Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Service Lead, you will be regarded as the Subject Matter Expert, responsible for providing strategic expertise to ensure the effective management of our Infrastructure. As the service lead for the team you will have a desire to take on service leadership roles such as:
1. Running Morning catch-up meetings,
2. Incident review meetings
3. Being the first point of contact for technical escalation
4. Delegating work to team members
5. Process improvement
The team is responsible for the full spectrum of run and build activities so there are opportunities to excel in the area that best fits your personal skillset.
Whether you are more suited to developing standards and governance, troubleshooting production issues, or documenting and building new systems you can make this role your own.
You will join the team at an exciting time supporting CBS in developing their digital presence so there is a huge scope for you to develop your skills for the next generation.
About You
A further education qualification (or equivalent), preferably in a computing subject with demonstrable experience of delivering and maintaining IT services and solutions to a mission critical environment.
Essential Skills
6. Windows Server expert in several product versions
7. Demonstrable Active Directory knowledge to strategic design level
8. Expert understanding of Group policy, DNS, DHCP
9. Microsoft Exchange Server Administration experience
10. Excellent troubleshooting skills
11. Experience with Windows based applications
12. Experience of working within an ITIL environment
13. M365 / Exchange Online
14. Azure Active Directory experience
Desirable Skills
15. PowerShell or other infrastructure scripting skills
16. Knowledge of Globalscape EFT
17. Citrix Experience
18. SCCM and server patching
19. Exposure to VMware Esxi and Vcentre.
20. Amazon AWS experience
21. Exposure to File servers and services
22. Certificate Services.
23. Experience with Backup software
24. Antivirus suites
Other essential information:
25. Available for out-of-hours support, on a rota basis.
26. Be flexible in supporting BAU activities or Project work as required
27. Be used to working within an ITIL framework
28. Able to work under pressure.
29. Thorough, with a good attention to detail.
