A well-resourced and culturally vibrant secondary school in Newcastle is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join their thriving Performing Arts department. This is a full-time, permanent position to start in September, suitable for an ECT or a teacher with a passion for music education.
The school is committed to providing high-quality arts education and promotes musical creativity through both the curriculum and a rich programme of extracurricular opportunities. You’ll teach KS3 music and GCSE Music, with access to a well-equipped music suite including practice rooms, recording equipment, and digital composition software.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, practical music lessons across KS3–KS4

Develop students' skills in performance, composition, and musical theory
*
Lead or support musical ensembles, choirs, or school productions
*
Promote music enrichment and performance opportunities throughout the school year
What We’re Looking For

A degree in Music, Music Education, or equivalent

QTS/QTLS
*
Strong practical musicianship and classroom teaching experience

The ability to inspire students of all abilities and musical backgrounds

Commitment to extra-curricular involvement and whole-school events
