Overview
Rhodes Wood Hospital School is a specialist setting providing education for young people with eating disorders and associated social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Many of our students are highly academic and creative, and we pride ourselves on delivering a supportive, stimulating, and personalised education that enables them to achieve and thrive. Our small class sizes and collaborative, multidisciplinary approach create an environment where both students and staff can flourish.
We are seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to join our dedicated team on a maternity cover contract. This is a fixed-term position for six months initially, with the possibility of extension. The role is part-time, covering three days per week (Monday, Tuesday and Friday).
You Will
* Teach Art to small groups of students across KS3–KS5, adapting learning to meet individual needs.
* Lead on planning and delivery of a broad, rich and engaging Art curriculum that inspires imagination, creativity, and self-expression.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, therapists, and hospital staff to provide a joined-up approach to education and wellbeing.
We Are Looking For a Teacher Who Is
* Enthusiastic about Art and committed to inspiring young people.
* Able to deliver Art confidently up to GCSE level.
* Experience in SEMH/SEND, alternative provision, or hospital school settings is highly desirable.
* Resilient, creative, and committed to inclusive education.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire highly able learners.
* Experienced in or willing to develop expertise in working with students with SEMH needs.
* Can start as soon as possible if available before January.
