Location: Underley Gardens School – Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2DZ; Waterloo Lodge School, Chorley, PR6 7AX; Oakfield House School, Preston, PR4 0YH. Permanent, term-time or flexible contract options discussed. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with overlap to core school hours. Full or part-time considered.
Responsibilities
* Deliver psychological assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, are neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs, in collaboration with the education team.
* Hold a psychological caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Contribute to school development, staff training and consultation as required.
* Adhere to the OFG Psychological Practice Ways of Working to guide practice in an education setting and align with governing and professional body requirements.
* Support the growth of apprentices, students and therapy assistants as part of developing an enhanced psychological therapy offer.
* Engage in safeguarding and person-centred practice, aiming to improve pupil outcomes and independence.
Essential Criteria
* HCPC registration.
* Doctoral level degree in Clinical/Counselling/Forensic/Educational Psychology (or equivalent if qualified prior to the Doctorate introduction).
* Experience in related settings or with related client groups; effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
* Experience communicating with families, carers and working across different systems within an organisation.
* Ability to develop formulations and inform clinical intervention plans; ability to train others and produce coherent clinical records.
* Excellent communication skills for complex matters; proficient IT skills; ability to work with a range of professionals.
* Commitment to CPD with ongoing evidence of professional development.
* Ability to travel on company business and hold a full driving license with access to a car.
Desirable
* Experience with neuro-diverse and SEMH client groups in school or residential settings.
* Experience providing supervision; knowledge of current philosophies underpinning services for the client group.
* Post-qualification training related to role or client group; knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice.
* Training in evidence-based interventions/approaches.
