Are you a tech-visionary with a passion for coding, computational thinking, and the rapidly evolving world of AI?
We are seeking an enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking and well-resourced department in the coastal town of Southend. In a city that is becoming a growing hub for digital innovation and tech start-ups, this school provides the perfect environment for a teacher who wants to equip students with the digital literacy and programming skills required for the 2026 workforce.

The Role
As a Computer Science Teacher, you will lead high-impact lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will join a faculty that prioritizes hands-on "making" alongside theoretical mastery, with the opportunity to lead A-Level Computer Science or BTEC Digital Information Technology for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Programming Mastery: Teaching high-level languages such as Python, Java, or C#, moving students from basic syntax to complex algorithm design.
* Theoretical Excellence: Delivering core units on data representation, computer architecture, networking, and the ethical implications of Artificial Intelligence.
* Cybersecurity Advocacy: Integrating modern security principles into the curriculum, covering encryption, social engineering, and network defense.
* Physical Computing: Leading projects using micro-controllers like Raspberry Pi and Micro:bit to bridge the gap between software and hardware.
* Exam Success: Preparing students for OCR or AQA specifications, focusing on rigorous pseudo-code practice and efficient problem-solving.
Why Join This School?
* Southend’s Digital Boom: Work in a vibrant seaside city with a growing tech sector and excellent rail links to London’s Silicon Roundabout.
* Cutting-Edge Facilities: Benefit from dedicated PC suites with high-spec hardware, dual-monitor setups for coding, and a range of robotics equipment.
* Collaborative Tech Faculty: Join a team that values agile planning, shared code repositories, and a "tinker-first" approach to professional development.
* Career Trajectory: Access to specialized CPD, including CAS (Computing at School) workshops and pathways to Head of E-Learning or Digital Strategy roles.
About You
We are looking for a "digital native" who can explain a bubble sort as easily as they can inspire a creative app interface.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or ICT.
* Has a proven track record of helping students achieve high grades in GCSE Computer Science.
* Possesses strong logic skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues on the fly.
* Is passionate about closing the gender gap in STEM and promoting diverse voices in technology.
