Head of Finance (12‑month fixed‑term contract)

Reporting into and sometimes deputising for the Senior Head of Finance, providing financial management advice, challenge and support to care groups within the Humber Health Partnership.
This role will be supported by a care group finance team, broadly covering budget‑setting, monthly budget reporting, forecasting, cost improvement plans and business cases.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide professional advice to senior managers within the Care Group, Senior Head of Finance and Operational Directors of Finance.
2. Produce timely and accurate financial management information, e.g. monthly Care Group financial statements to the prescribed deadline.
3. Create meaningful financial reports advising all Specialties within the Care Group on their financial and activity performance, including financial forecasting for the financial year.
4. Actively contribute to the strategic development of services alongside the Care Group Senior Management Team, Senior General Managers and Senior Head of Finance.
5. Provide appropriate financial leadership to ensure the effective functioning of the Care Group.
6. Produce and/or present reports to the Care Group Triumvirate and Specialties.
7. Negotiate on behalf of the Care Group with internal and external bodies including ICBs and NHSE, other Trusts and Private Contract Providers.
8. Supervise the Care Group finance support staff.
9. Proactively support the Care Group in the achievement of its savings targets, including evaluating ideas and influencing the outcome of savings schemes.
10. Represent the finance department internally and externally on financial working groups.
11. Deputise for the Senior Head of Finance.

Education/Qualifications
* Maintain a full professional accounting qualification awarded by a UK FRC regulated accounting body (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent).
* Maintain full membership of that body and required level of Continuing Professional Development

* 2 Years Professional Accountancy at Middle Management Level
* 2 Years Managerial experience
* Expert Knowledge of NHS Financial Regime
* In‑depth knowledge of NHS Protocol and Policy
