Are you a hands-on, commercially astute Finance Director looking to make a real impact in a growing business? This a dynamic company just beyond the start-up phase, having invested heavily in our development and now poised for significant commercial growth. Our goal is to scale to £2M turnover in the coming years-and we are looking for a part-time Finance Director to help us get there.
About the Role
This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You will be responsible for building a robust finance function and professionalising our back-office operations. While the role starts with a strong operational focus, it will evolve into a more strategic position as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and develop the finance function, including management accounting, financial reporting, and financial controls.
2. Implement and refine cost codes and cost control systems across various spend categories and ensure these are all recorded in the Xero accounting system.
3. Oversee all aspects of company administration and compliance, including company secretarial duties.
4. You will lead on commissioning the new integrated CRM which will handle all reservations, stock and EPOS transactions.
5. Provide senior-level financial and commercial advice to the leadership team.
6. Support investment, divestment, and third-party negotiations.
7. Review contracts and contribute to the development of professional infrastructure.
8. Be willing to roll up your sleeves-handling everything from high-level strategy to day-to-day financial tasks.
About You
We are looking for someone who can operate at all levels-strategic and operational-with the flexibility to grow with the business.
You will bring:
9. A recognised accounting qualification (e.g. CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
10. Experience in a scale-up or high-growth SME environment.
11. A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to build systems from the ground up.
12. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to advise at board level.
13. Experience supporting investment or M&A activity is a strong plus.
14. A flexible mindset-happy to take on non-finance tasks when needed.
