Job Title: Deputy Manager (Children’s Residential – EBD) Location: Doncaster Salary: £33,280 per annum (based on 40 hours/week at £16.00/hour) Working Hours: 40 hours per week Hourly Rate: £16.00 Sleeps Required: N/A Service: Children’s Home Service Users: Children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent as recognised by Ofsted) Experience Required: Experience in an Ofsted-regulated children’s residential setting (EBD experience preferred) Employment Type: Fixed-term / Project-based (with potential for extension or permanent opportunity) The Home A specialist children’s home in Doncaster supporting young people with EBD. The focus is on stability, consistency, and relationship-based care, with clear routines and a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach. The Opportunity This role is suited to a Deputy Manager who is ready to progress into a Registered Manager role. You’ll play a key part in supporting homes that may be under pressure, strengthening practice, rebuilding culture, and helping the Manager embed robust systems and consistent standards. A clear Personal Development Plan (PDP) will be in place from the outset, supporting your pathway into management. What We’re Looking For ✅ Experience in an Ofsted-regulated children’s home (EBD) ✅ A confident leader who can stabilise teams, set standards, and lead by example ✅ Strong safeguarding knowledge and a sound understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations and the SCCIF ✅ Skilled in supervision, coaching, performance management and developing staff practice ✅ Able to support improvement plans, quality assurance, audits and action tracking ✅ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent as recognised by Ofsted) ✅ Resilient, values-led, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children Why This Role Temporary/project-based role (with potential to extend or become permanent) Structured PDP and progression route towards Registered Manager Ongoing training and development Supportive, child-focused leadership team Free on-site parking Staff events and team culture initiatives A strong step into senior leadership for someone ready to progress Sponsorship is not available.
