Senior AI & Automation Engineer - Accelerate the Future of Intelligent Automation at Evri. This role is remote-first, with occasional travel to Morley, Leeds for collaboration and cross-team technical sessions.
Responsibilities
* Design, build and deploy Machine Learning models, LLM-based solutions and generative AI components.
* Implement MLOps best practices including pipelines, monitoring and automated model evaluation.
* Integrate AI/ML models into business workflows using scalable APIs and orchestration layers.
* Engineer performant automation across Power Platform, AWS and Databricks.
* Support architecture with scalable, secure and resilient design patterns.
* Design, code, test and document high-quality software following engineering best practices.
* Identify, assess and scope new AI and automation opportunities.
* Contribute to Agile delivery planning, estimation and documentation.
* Stay up to date with emerging technologies, trial new PoCs and evaluate business value.
* Support existing processes and deliver change through structured change-control methods.
* Collaborate on test procedures, UAT phases and production rollout with operational teams.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues in day-to-day automation and AI processes.
Qualifications
* Experience across AI/ML, LLMs, MLOps and modern automation engineering.
* Strong skills with Power Platform, AWS and Databricks (desirable).
* Ability to design scalable, distributed systems using modern engineering principles.
* Proficient in Python, TypeScript and SQL.
* Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, automation and CI/CD.
* Familiarity with agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban).
* Knowledge of object-oriented design and messaging-based architectures.
* Ability to mentor junior engineers and support technical direction.
* Strong problem-solving, structured thinking and clear communication skills.
* Ability to combine business analysis with hands-on configuration of AI and automation solutions.
