Job summary

We are looking to recruit 2 Maternity Support Worker for the Dover Community Midwifery team on a 12 month fixed term contact to cover maternity leave.

The successful applicant will be motivated, able to work independently as well as within a team and strive to provide exceptional care to women throughout the pregnancy continuum.

PLEASE NOTE - WE CANNOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE. If you hold a Graduate/Post Study work visa, you will only be able to work this role fixed term until the expiry date of your visa.


Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the East Kent Hospital Trust Dover community team to support the midwives in their provision of woman centered midwife led care.

This is an excellent opportunity for professional and personal development for those who want the experience of working in a flexible service. It is essential that applicants have the basic level of competency identified in the personal specification.

The successful applicant will be a crucial member of the maternityteam providing clinical support to women and babies as well asclerical, administrative, general housekeeping and other supportive roles within the midwifery service.

* NVQ Level 3 in health and social care or
* 3 A-Levels or Qualified MSW


Clinical skills and experience


Essential

* Current MSW within NHS
* At least 6 months experience as an MCA
* Ability to work as a team member
* To be literate and numerate
* Ability to use Sunrise and PAS
* Venepuncture
* Sound IT skills


Desirable

* Experience in community setting
* Sound knowledge of E3 systems
* Newborn Bloodspot testing
* CO monitoring of women

* Good decision making skills
