We are looking for a commercially focused General Manager to help move our sales and service offering forward in the UK. You will thrive on developing relationships with customers, as well as improving and mentoring your staff. Based in the Midlands, but travelling throughout the UK, you should have experience in selling capital equipment and maintenance/service contracts.
Salary and Benefits
* Basic Salary: £70,000 - £80,000

Location
A field-based role with the need to be in the office as required. You could be based anywhere within 2 hours of Northampton.

Job Description
As our General Manager, you will report directly to the UK Managing Director, replacing the retiring General Manager who has been in post for circa 30 years. You will oversee one business segment with a turnover of circa £7m, split into £5m equipment sales and £2m in service revenue. You will have 5 direct reports and 15 indirect reports across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the UK Sales and Service teams to achieve revenue targets and align with company goals.
* Set sales objectives and strategies, motivate the sales team.
* Oversee leadership elements including coaching, performance management, recruitment, and training.
* Develop the team of Key Account Managers / National Account Managers.
* Develop the after-sales and service team for maximum revenue.
* Regularly report sales performance to the Managing Director.
* Conduct market analysis to identify competition and revenue opportunities.
Person Specification
Looking for a sales-focused people manager with a proven track record in account development and team leadership, ideally in a capital equipment manufacturing environment. Industry experience should include Vehicle Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle, Plant, Truck and Bus, Off Highway, Military, Defence, Tram, or Rail sectors. You should have managed a sales budget of £5-15 million and have experience with service offerings alongside capital equipment sales.
