Role and Responsibilities:
Applications are sought from candidates who are physically able, with an interest in environmental management & Monitoring- 20 hours per week (Primarily over 3 days)
1. Provide scientific and technical support, and undertake environmental monitoring and assessment services across 9 closed landfill sites, throughout the year.
2. To Monitor Landfill Gas levels, Groundwater, and Leachate levels using appropriate and certified instruments.
3. To collate and analyse the collected data, and any other pertinent information which will aid the environmental management, and sustainability of these sites.
4. To help manage and co-ordinate ongoing environmental compliance, and implement sustainable environmental development across the closed landfill sites.
5. Maintain records and compile reports to support systems/function provided by the clients.
6. Assist in the preparation of environmental monitoring programmes for the clients.
7. Over 80% of this Role is spent outdoors, in all weather. The monitoring can be across rough terrain.
Other Duties:
To comply with the requirements of the company's accredited ISO 9001 & 14001: 2015 Quality & Environmental Management Systems for activities associated with the monitoring.
Keep abreast of legislation pertaining to the functions of the post.
To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the post, and participate in appropriate training activities.
Any other duties consistent with the level of responsibility of the post which may arise given the variable nature of the company's services.
Essential Skills:
A full clean UK driving license.
Good communicator verbal & written.

A basic understanding of a QMS System.
Basic understanding of the Audit process.

Educated to degree level or equivalent or experience relevant to the position possibly environmental management.
Knowledge of current waste legislation.
Essential Knowledge:
Basic administrative tasks.
Basic ITC Quality and Environmental awareness.
Ability to produce concise reports.
Able to write & collate data in detailed reports.
Desirable Knowledge:
Familiarity with Technology & software Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe and Outlook, as well as tablets & smart Phones.
Willingness to take part in Leachate Solutions personal & Professional development program leading to an IEMA qualification.
Experience:
Full training will be provided to carry out the Monitoring and reporting required for this role.
Previous environmental experience.
Previous experience with quality systems and auditing.
