Overview
Workshop Manager - Plant Hire Sector, South East based. Base Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Car Allowance. Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for plant maintenance and team development? We're looking for a Workshop Manager to take ownership of all workshop operations at our Bedford Depot.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and develop the workshop and yard teams.
* Schedule and oversee maintenance activities, including PDIs, LOLER inspections, and repairs.
* Ensure timely turnaround of equipment to meet customer demand.
* Maintain strong stock control and ordering processes.
* Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
* Work closely with Depot and National Operations Managers to maximize fleet availability.
* Deputise for the Depot Manager when required.
What We\'re Looking For
* City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent).
* Broad knowledge of plant equipment and maintenance techniques.
* Proven experience in workshop leadership.
* Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
* IT-literate and confident in using workshop systems.
* A valid UK driving licence (max 3 points).
