Primary SEN Teacher
* Daily Rate: £180 - £250
* Location: Lewisham
* Job Type: Full-time
Reed is supporting a school in their search for a dedicated Primary Teacher to join their team from September. This role is perfect for an experienced educator who is passionate about teaching primary-aged learners (KS2) and has a keen interest in special educational needs (SEN). The successful candidate will take on both teaching and pastoral responsibilities for a small class, supported by two teaching assistants.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Serve as the class teacher for a group of primary-aged learners, focusing on KS2.
* Manage a small class size of approximately 9 children, ensuring individual attention and support.
* Work with pupils who have a range of SEN, including autism, providing tailored educational experiences.
* Responsible for your own lesson planning, with PPA time provided to aid in preparation.
* Foster a nurturing and supportive classroom environment that accommodates the speech and communication difficulties prevalent among the students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - no Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
* Proven primary teaching experience in UK schools.
* Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching methodologies.
* Experience or a strong interest in SEN is preferred.
* Excellent command of English, with fluency comparable to a native speaker, due to the specific needs of the students.
* Ability to work independently in creating and delivering lesson plans.
