Michael Page Engineering & Manufacturing are working with an expanding UK business, based in North Yorkshire, who provide a bespoke range of high-quality, high-precision products to a growing international customer base.This innovative business is looking for a passionate, driven and knowledgeable Design Manager to help further the success of the business and grow the product base in line with current customer demands.
Job Description
The Design Manager will have full responsibility for the development of new and existing products, whilst helping to shape the future landscape of the business.Other day to day responsibilities will include:
3. Management of the engineering department consisting of 4 Design Engineers
4. Current product development as well as new product introduction
5. Ensuring product and process quality in line with ISO 9001 specifications
6. Planning, delivery and resource management of all CAD outputs
7. Reducing time to manufacture through effective DFMEA strategies
8. Budget responsibility for the engineering department
The Successful Applicant
Successful candidates will have a strong design background and a proven ability to lead high performing teams. You will possess:
9. A demonstrable background in design and leadership
10. A hands-on, development led approach
11. Tenacity, drive and passion about the product base you are working with
12. An inquisitive nature
13. A proven track record in people management and development
14. Strong, working knowledge of SolidWorks (or similar)
15. Relevant understanding of an MRP system
16. Ideally have a background in industrial machinery, capital equipment or similar
