Scientist II Junior Team Leader – Reading - £20.94-£28.31 PH – 6 months (Microbiology) Working as part of a cross functional team, you deliver the RDQ activities required to complete new product development, portfolio maintenance and/or productivity projects with an emphasis on meeting the desired consumer experience. Working within a Research & Development which is science led and results driven, the Microbiology Speciality Biopharma lab perform a wide range of analytical analysis for a variety of food, pharmaceutical and healthcare companies to support research and innovation. Duties are to undertake a practical role with supervisory responsibilities for a team of two within the Microbiology lab to ensure the projects performed are supervised effectively and accurately, focus on routine and investigative analysis of products using techniques such as Bioburdens, total viable aerobic count, endotoxins, environmental monitoring, train junior members of the team, client contact and administrative support for the lab management. Responsible for the maintenance of the instrument and lab systems including checking and approving supplier’s reports (qualifications, repairs and preventative reports. Successful candidates Accountability and responsibility for the testing team. Will have Line management / people management experience – do 1:1’s, etc. Must have a technical mind in microbiology. Must have recent experience of working within microbiology. Approx. 3 years recent experience in microbiology, worked to GMP and a have been a line manager of at least 1-2 people. This position is a Junior team leader position, not a manager/senior manager. Important they are coming from a microbiology position. They will not be a manager, they will be a team leader.
