Head of Sales (Capital Equipment & Service)

Our client is a rapidly expanding turnkey engineering company specialising in environmentally sustainable solutions. Their focus areas include industrial heat recovery, LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation), and air pollution control.
Due to continued growth across both the Capital and Service Divisions, we are on the search for an experienced and motivated Sales Manager to drive the next stage of the company's development.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded and commercially focused professional with experience in project and service-based sales, ideally within environmental, process, or technical engineering sectors.
Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, you will help shape and deliver the commercial growth strategy, develop new business opportunities, and strengthen existing client relationships. You'll also promote a full range of sustainable engineering solutions that support efficiency and environmental responsibility.
The role covers the UK and Ireland, with regular travel required.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and grow both Capital and Service sales, achieving or exceeding annual revenue and margin targets.
Promote and sell the full range of engineered systems, turnkey projects, and maintenance solutions.
Work closely with senior management to drive business growth and align sales strategy with operational capability.
Identify and develop new business opportunities while expanding relationships with existing clients.
Prepare detailed quotations, proposals, and tenders for capital projects and service contracts.
Conduct site visits to assess technical requirements and develop tailored engineering solutions.
Provide technical and commercial input throughout tendering, negotiation, and project delivery stages.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships through proactive communication and client engagement.
Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure high-quality project delivery.
Support forecasting, reporting, and strategic planning as part of the senior leadership team.
Represent the business with professionalism and integrity, promoting its reputation for quality, innovation, and sustainability.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in capital and service-based technical sales.
Background in burner systems, LEV systems, thermal oxidisers, dust/fume extraction, or mechanical/process engineering is highly desirable.
Qualification or hands-on experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering (Degree, HND/HNC, or equivalent apprenticeship).
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance client needs and business profitability.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
Self-motivated, professional, and results-driven.
Passionate about environmental sustainability and making a tangible, positive impact.
Willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK and Ireland (with occasional European travel).
