We are looking to recruit newly qualified social workers to join a community mental health team in a fast-paced city centre area. We offer a programme of CPD to support completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment and you will have an allocated supervisor, alongside a comprehensive induction. Our current bases offer on-site parking and you will be equipped with the necessary IT to work flexibly across our sites.

Main duties of the job
The Post holder will work with service users in a range of settings, including Primary Care and will work with them to agree what outcomes they hope to achieve. This will be through assessment of need using strength based and human rights approaches with an emphasis on prevention and independence.
The post holder will work to the local authorities' operating model to arrange any packages of care which may be required and will work closely with colleagues in other Trust services such as in-patient as well as other partners and providers of care.

Qualifications and Knowledge
* Degree and current professional registration held with Social Work England
* Willingness to undertake mentorship training/practice learning assessor and responsibilities
* A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to the service area, e.g. Mental Capacity Act, Social Inclusion, Mental Health Act, Care Act, safeguarding
* An understanding of relevant professional practice/standards within identified service area
* Evidence of current CPD/formal qualifications at an advanced level e.g. post graduate level or equivalent knowledge/experiential learning
* Full understanding of relevant policy drivers and their application in the service area, e.g. MCA, MHA, Care Act, Social Inclusion, safeguarding
* Full understanding/application of relevant practice/standards/audit within identified service area
Experience
* Willingness to undertake and complete Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme
* Appropriate knowledge/experience of working in mental health service areas
* Understanding of caseload management and care co-ordination responsibilities
* Be able to demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults
