The role

Looking for a new job with satisfaction that you’d struggle to find anywhere else? You’re in luck as our amazing TeamInchbrae in Aberdeen are on the lookout for new colleagues to join them on a permanent part‑time and full‑time basis.

You'll become part of a friendly team who supports two ladies and one gentleman, all with various learning and physical disabilities to live in their own home. You'll feel right at home there! There is a lovely homely feel and a separate sensory room within the home.

Along with supporting all aspects of daily living, the individuals are fun‑loving and enjoy a busy social life, so you’ll also support them with their hobbies and interests, including swimming, arts & crafts, baking, music, movies, shopping trips and days out.

About You

At Cornerstone, we don’t recruit on experience and qualifications; we’re more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team!

We’ll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you’ll need to build your career within the Health & Social Care sector. We’ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and your SSSC registration fees.

What we need you to bring

  • A caring and compassionate attitude
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Great communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • A creative drive to improve the lives of the individuals you support
  • Good administration skills
  • Confidence to go in the water as swimming is a regular activity
  • Confidence in the use of computers

The individuals we support have barriers to their communication, so it is essential that you also bring an excellent grasp of the English language.

Shift Patterns

Shifts will fall into patterns of early mornings (from 0700 hours), days and evenings. Weekends, waking nights, sleepovers and public holidays will also form part of your work schedule on a rotational basis. When working a sleepover, the sleep part of your shift isn’t included in your contracted hours. You receive £100.80 per sleepover worked.

What Makes Cornerstone a Great Place To Work

  • You’ll have a meaningful job doing things that you enjoy - it often doesn’t feel like work
  • Your job actually changes and improves lives - you’ll make a difference in your local community
  • We have a culture of empowering our colleagues and teamwork
  • No uniform – we wear our own casual clothes
  • We fund up to £500 towards driving lessons
  • We reimburse your yearly SSSC registration fees
  • Access to funded qualifications through our SQA approved, award‑winning Training Academy
  • Ongoing continued professional development and career progression opportunities
  • Recommend a colleague bonus scheme
  • Long‑service awards
  • Access to a 24/7 independent employee assistance helpline
  • 26 days annual leave (rising by 5 days after 5 years) plus 4 paid bank holidays
  • Family‑friendly leave options, including family, parental, bereavement and special leave
  • Access to many discounts, including cinema, gym memberships, holidays and shopping

Salary - £25,553 per annum (part‑time pro rate).

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support of our Training Academy. If you’re successful, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment.

Please note – if you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre‑employment checks.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
