About The Role
Location: Edinburgh
Hours: 15 hours per week
Pay: £13.45 per hour
Weekday shift: 3 pm to 10 pm plus overnight support ending 9 am
Weekend & day centre holiday shift: 9 am to 10 pm plus overnight support ending 9 am
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care, moving and handling, and positive behavioural support to individuals with learning disabilities or other support requirements.
* Expand and support the social networks and connections of the person supported.
* Work flexibly with overnight support and cover changes when day centres close.
* Ensure safety, wellbeing and the aspirational outcomes of the individual are met.
* Maintain effective communication with the individual and their family or support team.
Qualifications & Requirements
* No prior care experience required – values and transferable skills are valued.
* Willingness to work 15 hours per week, including overnight hours.
* Commitment to provide high‑quality support, dedication and a desire to help individuals reach their goals.
* Follow required regulations: upon acceptance the successful candidate must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within three months of start date.
* Eligible to receive full funding for an SVQ Health and Social Care qualification, required for SSSC registration.
