Job overview A new and exciting opportunity has been created for an experienced pharmacist to work directly with the Senior Pharmacy Management team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post-holder will be responsible for the leadership and strategic development of the education, training and workforce development strategy for all Pharmacy staff. With upcoming changes to pharmacist training and development along with the local development of an MPharm Pharmacy course within the University of Sheffield, this is an extremely exciting and wide-ranging role requiring candidates to work at a local, regional and national level to help deliver an education and training programme fit for the future. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, planning and delivery of all aspects of education and training across the pharmacy department and its 500 staff. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria • MPharm degree in pharmacy • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council • Higher degree/post-graduate diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent • Management, leadership or educational qualification • Demonstrated ability to work at Doctorate level Desirable criteria • Post-graduate Masters qualification in clinical pharmacy, leadership or education • Registered Independent Prescriber Experience Essential criteria • Extensive post registration experience as a practising clinician at advanced level within a UK hospital pharmacy department • Extensive involvement in planning, organisation, delivery and leadership of education and training including assessment of performance at individual and service level. • Significant experience at senior management level or ability to demonstrate equivalent experience of staff management, human resources policies, project management, business planning. • Experience of developing business cases and bids for educational monies • Evidence of ability to plan, lead and evaluate complex services and utilisation of leadership skills in highly complex projects and change management skills • Awareness and interpretation of NHS and educational policy.
