We are looking to recruit a Canteen Supervisor who will be responsible for preparing hot & cold food as well as supervising our canteen at our distribution centre in Bristol, Avonmouth. We offer a permanent Full Time position working a variety of shifts between 6am - 6pm (6am - 2pm, 8am - 4pm, 10am - 6pm) any 5 days from 7 (Including Weekends). Pay, working hours & benefits: We offer an hourly pay rate of £15.71 and you will be guaranteed a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. If you’re looking to earn a bit more then overtime is regularly available. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the below. - Supervise all colleagues working in the canteen. - Order all food items to stock the canteen. - Ensure that the canteen is re-stocked as necessary. - Monitor the items to ensure the canteen is not over stocked. - Ensure that all hazardous materials are safely stored. - Ensure that the canteen areas provide a safe working environment for all. - Ensure that all health regulations are complied with. - Maintain appropriate canteen records as required. - To maintain good order in dining areas. - Coordinate the daily operation of the canteen and oversee the preparation of food and counter services. - Identify stock requirements and place orders with appropriate vendors on a regular basis. - Participate in regular stocktake, recording and reporting processes. - Maintain accurate and appropriate records for the canteen and associated catering operations including filing of ordering, receipt and associated documentation. - Ensure food storage and handling is appropriate, hygienic and in accordance with the standards outlined by health controlling authorities within relevant legislation and regulations. About You: This is a busy canteen, so the ability to work under pressure without supervision is essential. Candidates should also be able to communicate effectively and posses general numeracy and literacy skills. Food hygiene is very important, so a basic food hygiene qualification would be desirable as well as an understanding of workplace health and safety.
