Faculty of Health and Life Sciences
Subject to the needs of the role, the opportunity for hybrid working is available some time on campus and some from home. We welcome applications from candidates interested in working part-time hours (0.8 FTE and above) or job-sharing arrangements.
This new full-time post is available from April 2026 on a fixed term basis (to cover a maternity) until April 2027.
This role is based in the National Institute for Health and Care Research Applied Research Collaboration South West Peninsula (NIHR PenARC), Department of Health and Community Sciences, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.
Summary of the role
The post holder will play a significant role supporting the work of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) South West Peninsula, commonly referred to as PenARC. PenARC is part of a £157 million investment by NIHR to support the transformation of the health and care system by delivering high‑quality applied research and accelerating the adoption of innovations into practice. We are a partnership of regional providers of NHS and care services, NHS commissioners, local authorities, Universities and charities. We have a strong history of working closely with health and social care professionals, members of the public and local communities in the South West of England and beyond to address immediate issues facing the health and care system through applied research.
The post holder will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of research information and communications projects and will be expected to work with internal researchers, senior research team leads, and external partners effectively. In addition, the post holder will be part of the management of NIHR PenARC, acting as the lead for Research Information and Communications and providing advice and expertise on related activities.
