Job Title: Batter Operator (12hr shifts - rotating days and nights)
Department: Processing
Reports to: Process Supervisor
Salary: 30663 GBP per annum
Location: Peterborough, England, United Kingdom
Overall Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to ensure that the batter quality meets customer specifications. To protect the brand, maintain trust and deliver our legal obligation by ensuring customers food is sourced and manufactured to the food integrity requirements of each customer.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Perform quality checks to ensure that the batter viscosity meets customer specifications
* Adjust machinery if batter quality deviates from customer specifications
* Conduct basic maintenance of the batter machine and maintain the cleanliness of own working area
* Complete a thorough handover at the end of each shift to the counterpart on the following shift
* Ensure own work and own team’s work is compliant with relevant health and safety, environmental and GMP practices
* Provide general assistance to process operators
* Complete process quality checks when required
* Complete blade changes
* Attend and contribute to MCS meetings
* BCS (Behavioural Based Safety) – responsible for your own safety and for those around you
* Carry out sanitation duties as required, including shutdown
* Remain at workstation until relieved at shift handover
* Provide on-the-job guidance, training and support for colleagues as required
* Report and escalate production problems or issues with a supervisor or manager in a timely manner
* Support shift engineers with process advice on breakdown and repair
* Any other reasonable tasks as requested by your supervisor/manager

Qualifications
* Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
* Lamb Weston chemical training, H+S, GMP
* PPT – to be completed
* RPPT
Experience
* 2-3 years’ food manufacturing experience
* SAP/SCADA experience
* Pallet truck
