About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Support Assistant to join our team and play a key role in supporting our Wastewater Networks. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of a busy operational environment, where your work will help ensure the smooth and effective flow of data and information across multiple processes.
Working as part of a dynamic and collaborative team, you’ll liaise closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Your support will be essential to technical support advisors, analysts, project managers, operations controllers, and managers, helping them to carry out their roles effectively. You’ll also provide flexible cover for other operations support assistants, contributing to the resilience and continuity of the wider team.
This role is all about coordination, accuracy, and efficiency. You’ll be responsible for gathering, validating, and distributing critical information, ensuring data and processes are accurate, up to date, and aligned with business requirements. Through your attention to detail and organised approach, you’ll help drive departmental and wider business objectives forward.
Your contribution will have a direct impact on our ability to operate efficiently and maintain our position as an industry leader. If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy working at the centre of a collaborative team, and take pride in supporting operational excellence, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, grow your experience, and make a real difference to the way we work.
About you
We’re looking for an organised and detail‑focused individual with a strong background in administrative work to join our team. You’ll bring proven experience in producing reports, handling and validating data, and engaging confidently with customers. The ability to work efficiently and accurately to tight deadlines will be essential, as your work will directly support day‑to‑day operations and decision‑making.
Excellent interpersonal skills are key to success in this role. You’ll be comfortable communicating clearly and professionally, both over the phone and face to face, and able to discuss issues in a constructive way while building positive, effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You’ll have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. This includes confidently maintaining Excel spreadsheets, compiling and formatting reports in Word, and drafting clear, professional business correspondence. Experience using systems such as CC&B and Maximo would be highly advantageous, as would a basic understanding of CMeX, although these are not essential.
As the role may require travel between sites, a full and valid driving licence would be ideal, however we will also consider candidates who are able to travel using alternative means. If you’re an organised, proactive professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and wants a role where your skills and attention to detail will make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
