Job Description:
Kepak McIntosh Donald is a globally recognized brand and the largest red meat producer in Scotland. We source our meat from local farmers and produce beef and lamb products with integrity and quality assurance.
We are seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance and Engineering team. The role involves providing maintenance support to the Production team, maintaining and repairing equipment, machinery, and tools used in the factory.
Working hours: Rotating shift roster (4 days on / 4 days off), dayshift pattern.
Role Responsibilities:
* Perform electrical and mechanical routine maintenance, inspections, and fault finding to minimize downtime.
* Experience with PCL Logic is advantageous but not essential.
* Carry out electro-mechanical repairs on high-speed, PLC-controlled plant, handling and packaging equipment, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
* Communicate effectively with production teams regarding breakdowns and downtime.
* Provide technical support for plant facilities, including compressed air, refrigeration, and steam systems.
* Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance routines, inspections, and remedial works.
* Support production targets and monitor machine performance to identify faults and improvement opportunities.
* Intervene during failures, plan and execute remedial actions proactively.
* Analyze procedures for efficiency improvements and collaborate with equipment suppliers on installations and modifications.
* Maintain cleanliness and adhere to 5S standards in work areas.
* Participate in training, cross-skilling, and use of maintenance management systems (CMMS).
* Support a rotating shift schedule and contribute to machinery compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
Candidate Requirements:
* Mechanical and/or Electrical Qualification.
* Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in meat/food production.
* Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC control, refrigeration, and PTW systems.
* Strong diagnostic and root cause analysis skills.
* Proactive attitude and good communication skills in English.
* Ability to multitask and work independently to meet deadlines.
* Willingness to participate in training and development.
