Undertake health checks for patients with long term conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. This will include health promotion/education and signposting to other services, such as to our social prescribing link workers. Complete NHS Health checks. Carry out routine observations such as pulse, blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, smoking and alcohol status and record findings accurately using the computer templates provided.
Phlebotomy. Diabetic foot checks. Process and label specimens ready for transportation. Administer flu vaccinations and vitamin B12 injections (by Patient Specific Direction).
Carry out ECG's. Facilitate home blood pressure monitoring. Ensure all consulting rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session. Ensure fridges are stocked appropriately and temperatures are recorded daily.
Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharp bins replaced. Supervising and ordering stock. Support with minor surgery and coil/contraceptive implant sessions. Other clinical tasks as required.
