We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic commercial team working on major rail infrastructure and civil engineering projects across London and the South East. The successful candidate will support the delivery of multidisciplinary rail projects, ensuring commercial efficiency, cost control, and compliance with client and company standards.
You will play a key role in project delivery — from initial estimates and tender preparation through to final accounts and project close-out.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the commercial aspects of civil and rail infrastructure projects, including subcontractor procurement, valuations, and change management.
* Prepare and manage cost plans, bills of quantities, and financial forecasts.
* Ensure compliance with NEC3/NEC4 contract requirements and company procedures.
* Conduct monthly valuations and issue payment applications.
* Provide accurate and timely cost reporting, cash flow forecasts, and risk assessments.
* Support project managers in monitoring project budgets and identifying opportunities for value engineering.
* Negotiate and agree subcontract terms and final accounts.
* Liaise with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure commercial alignment across project teams.
Experience needed:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline.
* Ideally 3–5 years’ experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, or rail projects.
* Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and commercial procedures.
* Experience with Network Rail or major infrastructure frameworks preferred.
