Job Title: Occupational Therapist – Community Adaptations
Location: West Midlands, Birmingham
Department: Community Services
Rate: Up to £34 per hour
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Birmingham City Council for an Occupational Therapist to assess and support adults in the community by providing equipment and adaptations to improve their independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities include:
* Conducting assessments for adults requiring equipment and adaptations.
* Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans.
* Recommending and facilitating the provision of equipment and adaptations.
* Providing advice and information to service users and their families.
* Collaborating with agencies such as Housing, NHS, and voluntary organizations.
* Ensuring adaptations meet assessed needs and providing necessary equipment.
* Staying updated on advancements in occupational therapy equipment.
* Engaging in ongoing professional development and maintaining a professional portfolio.
Qualifications and Experience:
* A degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy.
* Registration with the HCPC.
* Experience in paediatric occupational therapy.
* Strong assessment and treatment planning skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
* Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
* Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
