RESPONSIBLE FOR: Sales / Business Development
ROLE PURPOSE:
As the VPS Monitoring BDM, your primary objective will be to drive revenue growth by proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the alarm / CCTV monitoring and security solutions industry. Working to mutually agreed monthly targets, your role will be pivotal in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with both existing and potential clients, emphasising the value proposition of our monitored services, and ultimately closing sales.

Key Accountabilities & Activities
1. Business Development: Actively seek out and engage prospective clients through various channels, including supporting existing customer meetings, tender responses, cold calling, networking events, and industry conferences. Develop a deep understanding of the market to identify potential customers who could benefit from our alarm monitoring services.
2. Consultative Selling: Employ a consultative approach to understand the unique risk management needs of potential clients. Tailor presentations and proposals to showcase the features and benefits of our monitoring solutions, effectively addressing customer concerns and objections.
3. Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and advancements in monitoring and security solutions. Be proficient in articulating the features and benefits of our products, demonstrating how they align with the specific requirements of potential clients.
4. Relationship Building: Cultivate and nurture strong, long-term relationships with clients, providing ongoing support and acting as a trusted advisor. Collaborate with internal account management teams to ensure customer satisfaction and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the sales process or after implementation.
5. Sales Pipeline Management: Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, keeping accurate records of client interactions and sales activities using CRM software. Implement effective strategies to move leads through the sales funnel efficiently and meet or exceed sales targets.
6. Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify potential opportunities and threats. Provide feedback to the leadership team on market dynamics and competitive positioning to inform strategic decision-making.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams within VPS Group, including marketing, account management, and product development, to ensure a cohesive and customer-centric approach. Contribute insights to enhance product offerings.

* Experience working within or for Alarm Receiving Centres

* Excellent analytical skills with experience of analysing trends
* Drive to become an expert user for all systems within the Monitoring Centre

* Professional manner when dealing with customers and colleagues
* Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Good listening skills and an interest in developing knowledge of security services and products
