Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef specializing in South Indian cuisine to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in preparing authentic South Indian dishes, maintaining high standards of taste, hygiene, and presentation, while delivering a memorable dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic South Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, including idli, dosa, vada, sambar, rasam, curries, rice varieties, and traditional sweets.
* Develop, plan, and update the South Indian menu to include both classic and contemporary variations.
* Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all dishes.
* Manage kitchen operations efficiently, including inventory, ordering supplies, and minimizing food wastage.
* Maintain strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards in line with regulations.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff where required.
* Collaborate with management to design special menus for festivals, events, and seasonal offerings.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a South Indian Chef in restaurants, hotels, or catering services.
* In-depth knowledge of regional South Indian cuisines (Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra, Telangana, Karnataka).
* Strong understanding of spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques specific to South Indian food.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Relevant culinary qualifications (preferred but not mandatory if experienced).
