The Opportunity
We are supporting a major UK government organisation at the forefront of AI, data, and digital transformation, building out a next-generation capability to deliver AI-enabled products and services at scale.
This is a rare opportunity to join as an AI Product Lead, shaping how Generative AI, agent-based systems, and advanced analytics are deployed within complex, high-assurance environments.
You will sit at the intersection of product, users, and technology, translating AI capability into real, operational value.
The Role
As an AI Product Lead, you will take ownership of AI-driven products and services, from early discovery through to delivery and adoption.
You will:
1. Define and own AI product strategy, vision, and roadmap
2. Identify high-value AI use cases across operational and business environments
3. Lead discovery activities, working closely with users to shape solutions
4. Translate complex requirements into clear product backlogs, epics, and user stories
5. Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and architects to deliver AI solutions
6. Drive adoption of Generative AI tools (e.g. Copilot, LLM-based systems, AI agents)
7. Balance innovation with governance, ensuring ethical, secure, and compliant AI deployment
8. Engage senior stakeholders across business and technical teams
9. Measure and communicate value, impact, and ROI of AI initiatives
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for individuals who can bridge the gap between AI capability and real-world delivery.
Key experience includes:
10. Proven experience as a Product Manager / Product Owner / Product Lead
11. Experience delivering AI, data, or digital products in complex environments
12. Strong understanding of: Generative AI (LLMs, Copilot, AI agents) Data-driven product development Agile delivery (Scrum / SAFe)
13. Experience working with engineering and data teams
14. Strong stakeholder engagement across senior / non-technical audiences
15. Ability to translate technical concepts into business value
Highly Desirable
16. Experience within central government, law enforcement, defence, or regulated sectors
17. Exposure to AI governance, ethics, and risk frameworks
18. Experience with Microsoft ecosystem (M365 Copilot, Azure AI) or similar platforms
19. Background in user-centred design, service design, or user research
20. Experience scaling AI from POC → production
