The Role:
We are looking to recruit a Data Scientist. You will play an important role in transforming data into meaningful insights that inform strategic decision-making and support sales performance across the organisation. Working closely and collaboratively with IT and the Commercial Team, you will help deliver our data strategy by building a strong understanding of key data sources across the business and how these can be transformed to meet wider reporting and analysis needs.
With a background in data science (a Data Science / Analytics degree is desirable), you will use your programming skills to build, maintain and improve data pipelines, ensuring data is accurate, reliable and consistent. Alongside enhancing our business-as-usual reporting and analysis, you will support ad-hoc requests and help resolve data issues that may impact the organisation. You will also contribute to shaping new reporting requirements through the development of new data pipelines and reports.
As our Data Scientist your key responsibilities will be:
* Support the business in collecting, organising, validating, reporting and analysing data
* Develop and maintain semantic models, datasets and data pipelines required for reporting across the organisation
* Design and enhance programming approaches to support the insights and analysis the business needs
* Continuously improve data practices, with a focus on accuracy, quality and efficiency
* Act as a trusted technical contact, providing reporting support to the Commercial Team and wider business
* Manage APIs used for external data sources, enabling automation where possible and improving team efficiency
* Apply AI and machine learning where appropriate
* Promote data-informed decision-making across the business
What you’ll bring to toob:
* Proficient analytical skills and commercial awareness
* Programming skills (SQL, Python)
* Experience working with APIs to support automation and efficiency
* Experience working with data warehouses (Fabric experience preferred)
* Experience creating and maintaining advanced reporting dashboards (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
* High proficiency in Microsoft ExcelClear, confident and inclusive communication skills
* Previous knowledge of the telecommunications industry would be advantageous
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
* Data Science or Analytics degree or previous role in this field
