A growing chemical manufacturing business is looking to appoint a QC Lead to oversee the day-to-day running of their Quality Control laboratory. This is a hands-on leadership role, supporting production through analytical testing while also driving improvements, mentoring staff, and contributing to wider business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing the daily operations of the QC laboratory, ensuring priorities align with production demands and deadlines.
Leading, mentoring, and developing QC Analysts to ensure high performance and technical capability.
Performing and overseeing analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using techniques such as GC, HPLC, FTIR, Karl Fischer and titration methods.
Reviewing analytical data, identifying trends or anomalies, and implementing corrective actions where required.
Developing, improving, and validating analytical methods and specifications to ensure robust and reliable processes.
Supporting investigations, troubleshooting analytical or instrumentation issues, and escalating where necessary.
What You’ll Need:
BSc in Organic Chemistry or closely related discipline.
Proven experience in a QC laboratory within chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Strong hands-on experience with GC, HPLC, FTIR, Karl Fischer, and titration techniques.
Experience supervising or mentoring team members within a laboratory setting.
Good understanding of quality systems (e.g. ISO9001) and ideally GMP principles.
