Service Care Legal are currently working alongside a local authority in the Surrey area who are seeking a Property Lawyer to join them on a contract basis. Please find below further details about this role.

£45–£50ph umbrella / £44.11ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £39.36ph PAYE exc. holiday pay
Contract
3 months with possibility of extension, 36 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Negotiating and drafting landlord and tenant transactions including leases, licences, and assignments.
* Drafting and advising on wayleaves, easements, and third‑party consents.
* Managing freehold acquisitions and disposals of land and buildings.
* Providing legal and transactional support on property‑related schools work and academy conversions.
* Advising on trusts related to deferred payment agreements.
* Undertaking title investigations and due diligence, including reports on title and first registrations.
* Delivering a range of advisory work, from reviewing covenants, boundary disputes, and adverse possession matters to interpreting leases, agreements, and relevant legislation or guidance.
About You
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) with a strong background in property law.
* Previous experience in local government or public sector property work is highly desirable.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client‑handling skills.
* Able to manage a busy and varied caseload with minimal supervision.
