Housing Benefit and Systems Administrator
Location: Luton
Fully office-based, Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Our client is seeking a Housing Benefit and Systems Administrator to join their supported housing team, focusing on housing benefit services within their temporary accommodation provision. The role involves leading system development, administration, and management of claims and disputes.
You should have expert knowledge and experience in Revenue and Benefits environments, with a specific understanding of supported housing exempt accommodation rules, and a proven track record in effective claim management and maximisation.
Responsibilities:
1. Review and scrutinise all Housing Benefit (HB) payment schedules, posting payments to the relevant rent accounts in our digital housing management system.
2. Analyze received HB payments against rent accounts to identify discrepancies, highlighting issues and pursuing revenue recovery.
3. Collaborate with support workers and finance team members to maximise revenue and minimise arrears.
4. Support residents in resolving complex HB issues with trauma-informed communication and engagement.
5. Maintain and manage the HB elements of our digital housing management system, ensuring accuracy to support KPI and performance data generation.
6. Regularly liaise with the finance team to ensure accurate reconciliation of HB payments and minimise bad debts and arrears.
Requirements:
1. Experience working within supported/exempt supported sectors, with knowledge of rent levels and HB payment procedures.
2. Highly developed ICT skills and familiarity with digital housing management systems for HB claims and payments.
3. Strong knowledge of current HB policies and guidelines, with practical application experience.
