At our Kilkeel Facility, we manufacture aircraft interior seating for global customers. To support our existing business and enable future growth we are offering a 12-month Industrial Placement opportunity to join our Operations team. The role will be based on site at Kilkeel, Northern Ireland.
What you will do:
Supported by our experienced team you will:
* Develop the skills required to effectively support a production team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
* Gain experience in delivering performance against key targets, metrics, and quality standards, including supporting the delivery of the Master Production Schedule and associated KPIs
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement and cost reduction while supporting change management initiatives to maximise team efficiency and effectiveness
* Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to support effective communication and successful delivery of operational objectives
* Ensure all Health and Safety standards and regulatory requirements are consistently met
* Assist manufacturing line leaders in driving operational efficiency and performance improvements
What you will learn:
This role gives you the opportunity to work within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment, where you will develop a strong understanding of operational excellence and production delivery.
During your placement, you will focus on developing your skillset through hands-on experience supporting production teams while gaining knowledge of aerospace standards, quality requirements, and Health and Safety practices. You will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and customers to support effective collaboration and communication.
As part of continuous improvement activities, you will participate in Kaizen events, contribute to cost reduction and efficiency initiatives, and support change management projects. You will also have opportunities to present updates and improvement outcomes to the Senior Leadership Team, strengthening your confidence and professional communication skills.
Skills and Experience Required:
This Industrial Placement opportunity is suited to you if you are passionate about a career in Manufacturing Operations in the Aerospace industry. We will delight in training and supporting you during your placement which means you need to be a willing learner and committed to achieving both business and personal results whilst working as part of a team.
Essential Criteria:
As well as the above you will be studying towards a degree or integrated masters in Supply Chain, Warehousing & Transport or a Business-related discipline - with a significant Manufacturing/Operations component - and be available to complete a 12-month placement commencing in June/July 2026.
You will be proficient in Microsoft Office, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have experience working within a team environment. You will demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure to meet deadlines.
Desirable Criteria:
* Previous substantial work experience in a Manufacturing or Supply Chain/Logistics environment.
