Overview
We are seeking a Medical Education Administrative Officer to join the Medical Education team based at St Nicholas Hospital, Newcastle. This key role is responsible for ensuring high standard and efficient administrative support for Postgraduate Resident Doctors.
The successful applicant will have excellent customer service experience, organisational and communication skills, the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines, to work under pressure and maintain a customer service focus in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities, and experience of team working to achieve objectives. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new IT skills as required is essential.

The postholder is expected to be office‑based. With agreement, there will be some flexibility with arrangements after 1 year and upon demonstration that work is being carried out to the required standard.
Responsibilities
* Assisting in the provision of high‑level administrative support and coordination for the delivery of postgraduate teaching north of Tyne.
* Working closely with the Medical Education Assistant, Lead, Manager, team, Simulation & Education Development Leads, Teaching Fellows and Resident Doctors to deliver postgraduate education.
* Assisting with the training delivery of postgraduate trainee development programme courses.
* Supporting planning and organisation of Resident Doctor’s inductions.
* Assisting with the organisation of North Tyneside & Newcastle postgraduate weekly teaching.
* Compiling teaching attendance records, issuing certificates, and collecting feedback for postgraduate teaching events.
* Issuing requests for IT accounts for all grades of resident doctors.
* Requesting lone‑working devices, supporting queries and non‑usage.
* Providing admin support for simulation events by assisting with set‑up, timing and role players.
* Assisting with arranging mid‑point review meetings between trainee doctors and college tutors.
* Supporting the management of trainee Balint groups.
* Providing a reception service for Medical Education and managing visitors and registers.
* Providing logistical and technical support to presenters and ensuring equipment works.
* Taking internal room bookings, liaising with speakers and creating links where required.
* Monitoring and ordering stock.
* Attending key postgraduate meetings and providing meeting support when needed.
