About the Role
You will work with children aged 0–infant and their families, undertaking complex statutory work and contributing to high-quality safeguarding practice. You will bring strong experience in pre-birth assessments, child protection, complex Child in Need work, and PLO / pre-proceedings, and will be confident in producing high-quality assessments, care plans and court statements.
As an experienced practitioner, you will also play a key role in supporting the Team Manager by mentoring, coaching and role-modelling best practice for less experienced colleagues. You will lead by example, offering learning opportunities, reflection and professional guidance to help raise quality and performance across the team.
What we're looking for:
* Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
* Significant experience within Children’s Safeguarding teams
* Proven experience of:
1. Pre-birth assessments
2. Child Protection and complex CIN work
3. PLO / Pre-Proceedings Court work, including high-quality statements and assessment
* Ability to mentor, coach and support less experienced staff
* A strong commitment to reflective, strengths-based practice
* Enthusiasm, professionalism and a genuine passion for improving children’s lived experiences
