Our client, a long-established Irish building supplies company with a strong national footprint, is currently seeking a Branch Manager for their Cherry Orchard location. This branch plays a central role in the region and presents strong growth potential for the right individual.
The Role
The Branch Manager will take full responsibility for site operations, team leadership, and commercial performance. You'll manage day-to-day activities across sales, stock, service, and staff management, ensuring the branch performs to a high standard while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and grow branch sales by developing new business opportunities and managing key accounts
* Oversee daily branch operations including warehouse, shopfloor, stock control, and customer service
* Motivate and develop the team, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture
* Support on the sales floor when required, ensuring top-tier customer experience
* Work with internal departments (purchasing, logistics, IT, HR, finance) to ensure smooth operations
* Monitor costs, implement savings initiatives, and manage budgets
* Maintain high standards of store presentation and safety compliance
* Collaborate with central marketing and retail teams to drive branch visibility
* Manage customer accounts in partnership with the Credit Control team
* Represent the branch in internal meetings and local engagement activities
About You
* Proven experience in a branch or operational leadership role, ideally in the construction, DIY, or builders merchants sector
* Commercially minded with a strong track record in driving revenue and customer satisfaction
* Excellent team leadership skills with the ability to coach and inspire staff
* Comfortable managing all aspects of branch operations independently
* Proactive and organised, with strong communication and IT system proficiency
