About The Role

The UK Government & National Resilience Business Development Manager is responsible for leading business growth and strategic engagement across UK Government departments, emergency services, defence organisations, and national resilience networks. This role acts as a senior ambassador for Dräger within the government and emergency response sector, developing high‑level relationships, securing strategic opportunities, and ensuring our solutions support the UK's national security, public safety, and emergency response priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Networking & Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior officials across central government departments, national resilience bodies, and strategic partners.
Develop trusted relationships with Police Forces, Fire & Rescue Services, Ambulance Trusts, HART teams, National & Local Resilience Forums, strategic partners and emergency planning officers.
Act as the primary liaison for government and emergency service stakeholders.
Represent Dräger at relevant government, security, policing, fire, ambulance, and resilience sector events.
Business Development & Growth
Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across government, emergency services, national resilience initiatives, and local authorities.
Assist in the development and execute the UK Government Segment Strategy.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline across all government-funded resilience sectors.
Engage procurement bodies including CCS, NHS Supply Chain, national and local authority framework owners.
Strategic Partnerships
Develop partnerships with prime contractors and potential resilience partners.
Position Dräger as a key contributor/leader to national security and emergency preparedness.
Solution Promotion & Technical Collaboration
Understand operational challenges and recommend tailored safety and medical technology solutions.
Collaborate with technical and product teams to ensure compliance with UK standards.
Market Intelligence & Advocacy
Monitor policy, procurement trends, and developments across UK government, defence, emergency services, and national resilience.
Provide insight to support strategic planning and product development.
Tender, Framework & Compliance Management
Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and deliver competitive bids.

Reporting Relationships

Manager - Head of Sales - Government

Size of team/environment - The Draeger UK Government Segment is a small, mission-driven team that operates with an entrepreneurial mindset, where ownership, accountability, and collaboration are non-negotiable. Each member is empowered to take initiative, make decisions, and drive outcomes. Because the work is niche and generally the opportunities are high stakes, the team operates with frequent, direct interactions, ensuring knowledge flows quickly, decisions are made close to the work, and issues are surfaced and resolved early.

Education/Qualifications

Desirable:

Degree in Business, Public Policy, Defence Studies, or related field.
Membership of relevant professional bodies.

Essential

Security clearance eligibility.

Related Experience

Previous experience and understanding of complex government structures and long-term resilience objectives.
Strong understanding of government procurement processes and frameworks.
Deep understanding of national resilience, civil contingencies, defence procurement, and emergency services operations.

Skills, Special Competencies

Ability to engage confidently with senior government officials, resilience leaders, and strategic partners.
Professional presence and ability to represent Dreager at ministerial and senior stakeholder level.
Ability to secure strategic partnerships and navigate complex decision-making environments.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, politically sensitive environment.
Strategic thinker with a proactive approach.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and travel nationally
