The Role
This is a full time, fixed term role (27 months). The post holder will support Heads of School, School Research and Knowledge Transfer Leads, the Head of Research Office and Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Transfer, as well as all academic staff and students in aspects of the University’s activities as defined in the job description.
The post holder will work closely with other members of the Research Office to support the delivery of the university’s research plan and the attainment of research objectives embedded in the university’s 2026 strategy. In particular, the main focus of the role is supporting the identification of appropriate funding opportunities; the provision of support for staff in the drafting, preparation, and timely submission of bids for funding from charities, research councils and external bodies and the preparation of budgets for bids.
Key Requirements
The post holder will need to demonstrate comprehensive experience of working with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel. Experience in the development, enhancement and documentation of complex administrative systems and procedure, along with the experience of providing advice and guidance to academic and administrative colleagues at all levels in a University or Organisation of similar scale and complexity.
The successful candidate will have a passion for research and in particular supporting our academic staff throughout the process of applying for funding.
