CV Screen is recruiting for a Logistics Manager for a well-established retail company. The role is 30 hours a week, full time on site, in Barnsley, Yorkshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity to manage the entire import cycle, enhance business development, and ensure sustainability.
ROLE DETAILS
Your role as Logistics Manager will be responsible forthe efficient and cost-effective movement of stock from suppliers based in various worldwide locations to the distribution centre.
You will organise, monitor, and optimise the storage and transportation of goods.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Planning and managing logistics and transportation
- Selecting carriers and negotiating contracts and rates
- Working with suppliers to ensure there is cost-effective shipping and delivery planning
- Coordinating and optimising delivery schedules and routes
- Processing the clearance of imported goods
- Ensuring all HMRC documentation and payments are complete and accurate
- Liaising with buying and merchandising to plan shipments in line with the critical path
REQUIRED SKILLS
The Logistics Manager will have the majority of the following experience:
- Proven practical experience in a Logistics Manager role preferably in retail sector (specifically clothing)
- Record of successful distribution and logistics management
- Previous experience managing shipping, delivery and the entire import cycle
- Experience of contact with HMRC and related submissions
- Proficient in standard logistics software, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities and a high proficiency in excel
SALARY:
Basic salary up to £42,000
