At Tarmac, our Operatives are the heartbeat of our business. As an Apprentice Operative,youll gain hands-on experience in the production of concrete, aggregates, asphalt, and other essential building materials. Youll learn how to meet technical specifications, ensure product quality, and operate safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Youll also build a solid foundation in Safety, Health, and Environmental policies, preparing you for a rewarding and responsible role in our industry.
What youll be doing...
1. Supporting the safe and efficient operation of a ready-mix concrete plant.
2. Learning to lead RMX operations and ensure the safety of all site personnel and visitors.
3. Assisting with toolbox talks and safety briefings.
4. Managing daily production tasks such as stock ordering, inspections, and defect reporting.
5. Helping to manufacture high-quality concrete in line with technical standards.
6. Contributing to operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
7. Maintaining plant availability through inspections and scheduled maintenance.
