🪙 £41,000 + Car Allowance or Company Car and fantastic company benefits

Flexible working hours are required due to the geographical nature of the area. Evenings and occasional weekend work may be necessary.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the road transport industry and have experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship building?

Join the Road Haulage Association (RHA) as an Area Manager, supporting our membership, stakeholders, and the industry to ensure high levels of service and satisfaction. This key member‑facing role will act as the main point of contact for the South West of England area, delivering tailored support, personalised guidance, and proactive outreach.

What you’ll do

• Drive membership retention and growth by building strong relationships, providing expert guidance, and promoting RHA’s full range of services.
• Engage with members and stakeholders across multiple channels, offering support on employment and transport matters and identifying opportunities to enhance their experience.
• Represent RHA at events, raise awareness of campaigns and initiatives, and champion the association at stakeholder engagements.
• Use data and technology for continuous improvement in membership engagement, ensuring services remain relevant, responsive, and impactful.

What you need

• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of the logistics and coach sectors and a solid understanding of operational legislation, employment relations, and commercial matters (including O’ Licences, tachograph records, and grievance procedures).
• Proven track record in business development or relationship management – ideally within the transport or membership sectors.
• Excellent communication, public speaking and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Highly organised, tech‑savvy with CRM systems and Microsoft Office, comfortable working independently.
• Strategic thinker, hands‑on, adaptable, proactive and committed to continuous learning.
• Flexibility to travel and work evenings.
